On Monday, we had our most awakening lesson again! Literature never fails to keep us awake, alert and attentive! I really love the way Mrs Woo teaches us. So many group works and discussions which really trains our concentration skills. We may do our discussions and end up chit chatting about other non-related stuff! By doing these group discussions, I think it’s really a great help to us for helping us stay on track and manage our time well.  Along with Mui Siew, Jamie and Jia Le, we did our discussion on predictions.  It was certainly hard to focus with Jia Le kept sharing about his life stories which were not related to our topic. But in the end, we managed to come up with a real story. Not really a prediction.  After discussing, we were called out to present. Each group has to present their answers to the class. We all laughed along with each ridiculous story each group had came up with! Some stories were really unbelievable! I enjoyed this time very much.

From today’s lesson, a number of us shared our superstition findings with the class. Once again, I really enjoyed the group work. But this time, by listening to all the superstitions, I really felt very weird about it. Despite knowing that superstitions is a myth, but they still believe and practice it. Unconsciously, we are also being superstitious daily yet we still think we are not. There’s no bad luck or anything. So I wonder during lesson, where and how
did all these weird superstitions come
about.  It really amazed me how the
people in this world made all that
up and actually convinced others to
believe in them.

I have learnt how to write cinquain poems during this lesson. It is very interesting as it is easy and we can write on many different topics according to our mood.
Line1: A noun (One word)
Line2: Two adjectives (Two words)
Line 3: Three -ing words (Three words)
Line 4: A phrase (Four words)
Line 5: Another word for the noun (One word)
It was very fun for us to do write a cinquain poem in our groups. We came out with all sorts of funny ideas but in the end managed to write our own proper poem. I had an enjoyable time discussing.
Maybe next time, instead of providing us with just a small piece of A5 paper, we can use bigger papers so that we can design more on it and express ourselves.
